Sroufe Healthcare Products Purchases Sher™ Company

Sroufe Healthcare Products, LLC, has purchased Sher™ Company, Inc. of Philadelphia, PA, a wholesale supplier of hand-crafted, prefabricated orthotics and foot comfort supplies. Sher has been a leading brand of prefabricated orthotics for 50 years.

For the last 30 years, Sher has been under the leadership of company president Alan Greenbaum. “Alan has been a real force in this industry,” said Jeff Wells, president of Sroufe. “We are delighted he has agreed to assist us during this transitional period.”

All Sher assets are being moved to Sroufe’s Ligonier, IN facilities and the brand will now be called Sher Brand Handcrafted Orthodics. “Alan and his people combined the art and science of hand-working these products and we plan to carry on that heritage," said Wells.

Sroufe will display the Sher Brand products at the Pedorthic Footware Association in Atlanta on Nov. 9-12, 2006.
